My interest in art started early in life. I was especially interested in portraits. My first formal art studies were in Philadelphia, PA, where I took a course led by a student of Andrew Wyeth, who taught his methods. After a move to Phoenix, AZ, I took art classes and workshops with Don Gray in Scottsdale (portraits) and Gar Whiterspoon, a student of Gary Jenkins, on florals. All my work before I came to Santa Barbara was in oil. I have since taken portrait classes with Rilla Underwood, and landscapes with Ray Strong. Recently, I have taken classes in water color with Kathy Quail. I now work in both mediums.  I am presently doing plein air painting with Michael Drury, Tom Henderson, and Jim Armstrong in both water color and oil.
I am a member of the Goleta Valley Art Association, the Santa Barbara Art Association, and the Los Padres Watercolor Society.
Last year I won a ribbon at the Santa Barbara Orchid Show, and also won a ribbon at the Goleta Valley Art Association in 2007.
My Work has been exhibited in Phoenix and Scottsdale AZ, The Faulkner Gallery, Gallery 113, The Cabrillo Arts Center, Borders Books, Antioch University, Oliver & Espig Jewelers, and Shell's Cafe. I have also participated in several outdoor festivals in Santa Barbara and Goleta.
